My Pregnancy Breakfast Oatmeal Recipe!

To all of you who have hated oatmeal your entire life and you keep going strong with the feeling – I know how you feel, I have felt the same way my whole life too. But when I got pregnant everything has changed. With pregnancy it is quite normal to get constipated if you don’t get enough fibre in your diet. Well, guess what, I have learnt this the hard way.

I have tried eating oatmeal one thousand times since I was a kid and I never liked it. But I’ve come to realize I have been doing it all wrong. The recipe I have invented has been tested for 6 months now and it never failed me! I haven’t had a single day with gut problems or constipation since!

Here is it:

  • Old-Fashioned Oatmeal – 50g
  • Milk (I use dairy) – 100ml
  • Water – 150ml
  • Raw Cacao Powder – 1 tsp
  • Chia Seeds – 10g
  • Flax Seeds or Flax Seed Powder – 10g
  • Honey – 20g
  • Golden Raisins – 10g

Instructions:

In a pot, add in the oatmeal, milk, water and raw cacao powder. Boil until almost all the liquid evaporates. Place in a bowl, add in the chia seeds, flax seeds or flax seed powder, honey and golden raisins on top and mix it all in. And there you have it – a quick, wonderful and most importantly – healthy breakfast that you can make even for your kids!
