Remember when we talked about the leaving the dome of the devil’s food cake for later? And have I also mentioned that I really hate wasting food away? Here’s a very easy way to create a simple, but yet tasty dessert with any leftover cake dome.
- 200g Leftover cake dome – we used the one from our Simplified Devil’s food cake recipe
- 40g Vanilla Pudding powder
- 500 ml Milk
- 3-4 tablespoons Icing sugar
- 100g Chocolate chunks
- 50g Raspberries – you can replace them with any fruit you like
To prepare the pudding it is best to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the package. Once you are done with it, let it cool down to room temperature.
Break your dome to pieces and shred the chocolate into small chunks.
Into four glasses of choice lay a layer of the pudding, add some of the cake crumbs and some chocolate chunks, add another layer of the crumbs and some chocolate and decorate with fruit on top.
Place it in the fridge and serve cold.
This recipe is great for preparing dessert for event a day in advance.
And there you have it! No food is wasted and a great dessert is served!
