Raspberry Sorbet – a healthy way to handle the heat


Homemade is always better than store-bought

Yes! If you can prepare it by yourself and you have the time to do it, why buy it from the store anyway? Homemade meals and desserts will not only spare your health, but also keep your wallet fuller! And if you have kids this is definitely the safest option to go for during summer.

This is a very simplified and easy to prepare recipe that will not ask for a whole afternoon spent in the kitchen just to make a sorbet… Duh!

You will need:

  • 500g Frozen Raspberries
  • The juice of a half a lemon
  • 50g water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon of honey
  • A blender to mix it all together
  • An ice cream machine (OPTIONAL)
  • A strainer to remove the seeds (OPTIONAL)

How to prepare it:

Heat the water in the microwave just enough so the honey will completely dissolve in it once you put it in. Add in the raspberries, lemon juice and honey water into the blender and mix it until smooth. Then strain the mixture to remove the seeds. If you don’t mind them, then you can leave them in, however straining the sorbet makes it smoother. Then you can place it in the ice cream machine if you have one. I completely enjoyed mixing mine every 20 minutes to avoid crystalization because I don’t have an ice cream machine at home!

Decorate with chocolate chips, sprinkles or another fruit for more flavor, or anything you like really!
